Help the USW strike against Goodyear

From the USW Rapid Response

While Goodyear is making large profits, it has forced our members out on a strike which is now entering its third month. The strike centers on two issues that are of vital importance to us all: Outsourcing and Healthcare.

Goodyear is insisting it wants to close a tire building facility in Tyler, TX where 1,100 USW members work and has also stated it wants to end company sponsored healthcare for all retirees. At the same time, they want to expand their Chinese operations with a goal of importing over $1 billion per year in Chinese tires. Goodyear has also given large bonuses to executives after reaping profits nearing half a billion dollars this year alone.

We must take action to help our sisters and brothers at Goodyear right away so this does not happen to all of us. Please plan to get involved by participating in a nationwide mobilization on December 16. You can do this by joining other steelworkers and activists at a morning demonstration near you!
