Work Week law that changed Americans lives

Under the terms of the 1938 Fair Labor Standards Act, new rules required employers to pay overtime after more than 40 hours each week. This changed life for many American workers, including those shown in this 1935 file photo, which was taken at New Bedford's Jeandros Dye and Print Works.
