Massachusetts and New Hampshire AFL-CIO Labor to Labor Walk

All day event

Massachusetts and New Hampshire AFL-CIO
Labor to Labor Walk
Saturday May 17th
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Launching from the NH AFL-CIO at 161 Londonderry Turnpike in Hooksett, NH

Please join union members from Massachusetts and New Hampshire as we go door to door talking to fellow union members about the importance of healthcare in the 2008 elections. Donuts, muffins and coffee will be served, and a short training will be provided before we hit the streets.

The Massachusetts and New Hampshire AFL-CIO are coordinating a massive mobilization effort to educate union members on the issues important in the 2008 elections. The Labor Movement has a real opportunity to help elect pro-working families candidates to the Presidency and Congress in the crucial battleground state of New Hampshire. Please take a few hours on the morning of Saturday May 17th to be a part of the exciting Labor 2008 campaign.

Among the important issues to be discussed with fellow union members are:

  • John McCain's plan to tax the healthcare benefits of working families by making employer-provided health benefits part of taxable income
  • Senator McCain's vote against the State Children's Health Insurance Program, (SCHIP) which would have provided healthcare to 4 million children
  • U.S. Senate candidate Jeanne Shaheen's plan to enact comprehensive healthcare reform that provides quality, affordable care to all
