Strategic Research for Union Organizing and Contract Campaigns

This hands-on class will provide participants with an opportunity to learn to use the Worldwide Web and online search engines and databases to find out crucial information about employers.
Topics include:

  • The purpose and uses of corporate research in support of organizing and contract campaigns. What are we looking for, how do we find it, and how do we use the info we find?
  • Basic research strategy and essential web research skills
  • Government sources, federal, state & municipal
  • Finding and analyzing a company's financial data
  • Searching the media
  • Using Lexis-Nexis, and more....

Plenty of computer time is included for participants to practice and hone their research skills.
Whether you are brand new to computer research, or just want a refresher, this workshop will have something for you.
