Union: Pilgrim workers denied entry to plant

About 100 workers at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station picketed the facility's entrance Wednesday after a breakdown in contract negotiations and what the union claimed is a lockout of some employees by the plant's owner, Entergy Nuclear.

Seafood plant ends jobs for about 50 workers with questionable documents

"For me, it's an attack on the immigrant community," said Ventura, estimating that about 50 Kyler workers have been affected. "It's a psychological raid."

Many of the Kyler Seafood employees, including some who had worked for the company for more than a decade, are owed back pay for unused vacation and other benefits which they are now afraid to claim, he said.
